It is sad the gouging going on. I see rifles that was selling for 850 new a month ago going for 2000. Just do like Me and my dad did. We bought Complete Rock River lowers off of gunbroker 2 days ago for 550 a piece and then ordered complete upper for 500 from Rock River with all the Accessories we wanted have a buddy that has all the tools to put them together for us for 50 bucks a gun. So we now have a complete RRA for less than 1200 bucks

Its crazy, I had a dpms sweet sixteen that i had over 3000 in and it was listed on here forever for a 1000 bucks and couldnt give it away. I finally sold it to a friend then had to repo it cuz he didnt come up with all the money. But now look in the classifieds to see stock ar, dpms whatever and they want 1800 and up and some people are actually buying, its crazy. Then you have crappy tula ammo selling for premium ammo prices. It makes me want to sell mine and all the thousands of rounds I have, but I refuse to gouge just cuz its the going thing. But i have been thinking on trying to trade towards a quad of somekind.

Ill just wait for it all to simmer down then buy one from a person who bought it out of a fluke decision and not have to have one on back order or give 2x more than whats it worth.

I don't understand why some people think it is price gouging and whine & cry when someone will not sale there item to you at great deal. No one is making you buy it. If your panic buying, you should have bought when the prices were more reasonable.

AR15's have been around since 1965. Ammo for them even longer. But if someone wants what the market allows, They are Price Gouging. Free Market sets the price, If you don't like that...There is always Russia.

I'm glad most took the joke well. I was a little hesitant that i might be reprimanded for not posting that in the correct forum. I just cant believe my eyes when i go to armslist, gunbroker, gunlistings.com etc. and see what people are asking... and in the case of gunbroker getting.

Good luck on those RRA uppers. Regardless what you buy from them ,its usually at least 3 months and I would guess you will be waiting at least that long now. I been watching gun sites and the buyers that were gonna jump off the cliff have already jumped and people are starting to drop the prices as a lot are relisting lower price every few days. I see these double stars priced at 2000 ,that should make my RRA pred pursuit worth about 3500. Lmao!!!!!!!

Dad, Ordered ours 2 weeks ago. May be awhile. But I can wait no problem. I didn't even know he ordered them until 2 days ago. When I was talking about buying. Might have to cancel them and then buy off gun broker like we did the lowers.

Well it all depends....

You get all these greedy SOB's out here buying up stuff left and right so as other people can't buy anything because the self is empty.... Then they are trying to sell all that horded up stuff at ridiculous prices.... reasonable profit is one thing.... double or triple is pathetic..... market or not.

Why *some* profit ok, but double is not? What exactly is "some" profit? How do you set that number? WHY do you get to set that number for two other people engaging in free trade?

Either you are for FREE market, or you are not. There is no middle ground.

Well $80 for a $20 magazine is crazy..... $2,000 for a $850 rifle is crazy.... $1,000 for $400 worth of ammo is crazy....

Now how many people were crying to boycott Cheaper Than Dirt for jacking up their prices when they did.... how are independent sales any different?

If a person has the money and wants to pay double or triple for something.... I could care less.... But when I need some ammo for hunting or target shooting and I can't find any because someone decided to hoard it up to sell to some sucker later.... well it pisses me off just a little bit.

It's going to be pretty sad in a few months when the market is back down and stores are flooded with product.... all those that bought expensive stuff with their bill/rent money now have all those guns/ammo but no money to pay their bills and they can't sell their overpriced guns......

Carry on brother....

What some are missing and here's an example: I just got mine a few days ago from a private party.... I didn't have the luxury of paying base price. My price is in line on what I have in the rifle. I don't really need to sell it and don't care if anybody wants to buy it.

If something is hard to come by than the prices will always be high. No different than buying gold or diamonds. For the guys that have stuff on back order that are getting great deals... It's not a deal if you never get it.

My 2 cents.

Prices change. Demand changes. What someone paid for something is IRRELEVANT to what it is wort to the next guy who WANTS that something.

Ahhhh.... so what this really comes down to is *your* lack of preparedness?

I have a buddy that started hitting Wal*Mart's looking for TulAmmo .223 back in November. By the time of the shooting, he'd already picked up about 5000rds. Some of our mutual friends laughed at him at the time... asked why he was buying so much ammo.

Am I supposed to be mad at him for planning ahead? Should I also be mad at him if he chooses to sell some of that ammo if someone is willing to give him double what he paid? I guess I just don't see how I am supposed to blame him because he planned ahead and someone is willing to pay top dollar for something he has.

But when the market is flooded and there is no new legislation yet, these people will still need to pay their bills. Will they pay there mortgage and feed there kids or hold out for what they have in their overpaid items. I bet alot will pay their bills and take care of their families and may have to take less to get the money in a timely matter.

I'm saying their will be deals to be had and these prices will drop, they always do, jmo....

I think i'm going to protest buying gas now..... You guys got me thinking. Back in 1987 I could buy gas for .99 cents. Now I'm paying $3.19. I'm going to show them and not be a sucker anymore. Just went out and bought a good pair of shoes.... \:D

Not sure about this statement "That is not the same thing DRM.... and NOT what I am talking about at all.... I'm talking about taking advantage of people."

Since people can live without owning an AR-15 and it's not a necessities of life. How are people being taken advantage of? It's pretty easy.... You can either pay the prices being asked or not own one. It's pretty simple considering no one is required to own an AR-15.... \:\)

Ahhhh.... so what this really comes down to is *your* lack of preparedness?

I have a buddy that started hitting Wal*Mart's looking for TulAmmo .223 back in November. By the time of the shooting, he'd already picked up about 5000rds. Some of our mutual friends laughed at him at the time... asked why he was buying so much ammo.

Am I supposed to be mad at him for planning ahead? Should I also be mad at him if he chooses to sell some of that ammo if someone is willing to give him double what he paid? I guess I just don't see how I am supposed to blame him because he planned ahead and someone is willing to pay top dollar for something he has.

That is not the same thing DRM.... and NOT what I am talking about at all....

My "lack" of being prepared.... I think not, and again not what I was referring to...

As I said, if someone wants to shell out big money for something... good for them.... What's the old saying, There is a sucker born every day?

I'm done with this silly thread....

carry on....

I think i'm going to protest buying gas now..... You guys got me thinking. Back in 1987 I could buy gas for .99 cents. Now I'm paying $3.19. I'm going to show them and not be a sucker anymore. Just went out and bought a good pair of shoes.... \:D

How is a free market exchange of goods for cash taking advantage of someone? Does the buyer *need* an AR15? And if they do *need* it, shouldn't they have planned ahead and bought it before the panic set in?

How is the gas station changing the price on the sign while you are filling your tank any different? The has in their tanks cost them the same as it did 30 seconds ago, yet they are about to charge more... They are reacting to market forces and adjusting accordingly... Seems the same to me.
