I had a bald eagle sitting on a perch in my backyard here in Mt. Juliet and was wondering is there a nest somewhere on the mid to lower part of Old Hickory. Myself and the neighbors were just wondering if it was passing thru, or if there was a mate somewhere close and it's going to take up residence in our area?

It is the time of year that they are pairing up to mate. Sometimes they will stay in the males territory usually they end of staying in the females territory. They mate for life.Jan is usually the peak time to view Eagles .The migrating birds haven't gone home yet. If a nest is spotted don't get to close ,they might decide to build else where.

Give Scott Somershoe a call over here at (615) 781-6653. He would know of any previous nests nearby.
