Both the places i hunt here in Dickson are 10 to 1 ratio fox over gray squirells. plan on thinnning some out


here is 1 that climbed the tree & just sat there looking at me for about 10 minutes

Shew. Id love to kill me a good fox and get it mounted. All the squirrels ive killed in the past never seen a fox.

Wow never knew fox squirrels were that rare in tn. I grew up hunting fox squirrels but have noticed a trend towards greys taking over and are probably the dominant species now. As far as eating, grey now doubt as they are a lot more tender. Problem is a lot of the time you need a shotgun to get the greys, they won't sit still. Lol

I have only seen 5 fox squirrels in my entire life. Most of my hunting is in Morgan County/Catoosa and have yet to kill one.

I would travel with the dogs if someone could point me in the right direction.

1st time i deer hunted a place i have in Charlotte - had 17 fox squirells come out of 1 tree chasing one another all afternoon. was a cool sight.
