Is one brand better then another. This is what I'm wanting to do is suppress my 7.62 (which is no problem besides the paper work and it will work on other 30cal with the same specs) but I would like to find one that would work on a 5.56 to

Thunderbeast arms has a nice one for 7.62. As far as 5.56 pick one that you like most are quality suppressors.

My YHM Phantom works on both 7.62 and 5.56. It's heavy and ugly but built like a tank. I would definitely buy another one.

All 30cal suppressors will also work on 5.56. You need to decide on what attachment method you want. Quick attach muzzle brake/flash hider mount OR direct thread onto the barrel. Also consider weight. Titanium suppressors are very light and expensive vs others of stainless/inconel construction that are more affordable. I have an Ops Inc 3rd Model 30cal that I run on my .308 and really like it. It's heavy enough to use as a club but the POI shift is very slight, 100% repeatable and I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Whatever you decide, go with a well known and reputable mfgr.

Your wife or son can still get it if something were to happen to you.... the difference is, with a trust, they wouldn't have to pay another $200 to get the item transferred to whoever.... That's how I understand it.
If you're going that route, I would suggest getting a lawyer to draw up the paperwork.... one that is familiar with doing those type trusts.... There are several on TnGunowners.com

If you are not already a member, I would suggest registering for TnGunOwners.com
You can find some good info about gun related topics and especially the class 3 items.
When you shop for a suppressor, also keep in mind the cold bore vs. warm bore POI change.... and also the POA/POI change between unsuppressed/suppressed. Db reduction will vary, but the best results will come from the titanium products, although they will be pricier.... you will see a weight reduction and longer lasting material.
Do what you want for mounting options.... I would go with just the simple thread on version.... cheaper and simpler. If you buy a 30 cal "can" and plan to put it on a .223, all you need is the thread adapter. Most "can" manufacturers sell those too.
