Don't think I remember how to use a tip-up anymore but can probably hold my own sitting on a bucket in 10 degree weather. \:D
I'd give anything to jump on the old Arctic Cat right now though.

Brown or sear 1st.It seals in the juices. Always let your meat rest before cutting it lets the juices redistribute.You'll find your roasts are more tender and moist this way.

Negative ghostrider. There's no such thing as "sealing in the juices". Searing will lose more moisture than not searing, 100% of the time. But you're correct about letting it rest to redistribute the remaining juices.

But in a Crock Pot roast, it's a useless conversation anyway ;\)
