Im thinking about getting into coyote hunting and am wondering what would be a good place to start. I have land to hunt and im sure i can get more if i tell farmers that im hunting coyotes. Just wondering what would be a good starting place.
calls? Gun? decoys? things like that.

Get you a couple of hand calls, I assume you have a rifle already, and you dont have to start with a decoy...get out there and start calling, watch your wind and have a blast. It is addicting and be thankful you have private land to hunt...i lost all of mine this year.

Just invest in a good call or calls. You don't need a special gun for coyotes.

Thanks I should have asked about caliber because I killed my first this year deer hunting with my 30-06 and it messed up the hide and I'm doing a little taxi work and would like to keep some hides to practice on.

.223 Seems to be the most popular, but anything will work...as long as your are accurate with it. It gets a little different when you are calling them in, things tend to happen faster so you need a weapon that allows you to get on your target quickly and apply an accurate shot.
