I know this has been much talked about and posted previously, but it is a very important issue that needs to be "top of mind" for every Tennessee Valley fisherman.

I hope you'll join me in signing the online petition opposing the Corps of Engineers closure of Cumberland River tailwater fisheries. Details and the link to the online petition here: http://www.nooga.com/159372/corps-of-engineers-tailwater-closure-a-huge-mistake/

And I would invite you to take the following paragraph, copy & paste it onto your Facebook profile for all to see please.

Please join me OPPOSING a closure of Cumberland River Dam tailwater fisheries by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. You can attend public meetings and/or sign an online petition opposing this colossal bureaucratic mistake of epic proportions. Details here: http://www.nooga.com/159372/corps-of-engineers-tailwater-closure-a-huge-mistake/ SHARE this with your friends please.

Thanks. If the Corps continues on its current course, you'll soon be seeing barriers like these beneath every Cumberland River dam and who knows, it could give TVA some ideas?

I have signed and shared on facebook

Signing took about 30 seconds

Sharing on facebook took probably less than that

Doesn't take much effort to support this cause and it might make a difference in whether or not we will be able to take our boats to some of the best fishing holes on the Cumberland River system... please, if you see this and haven't signed it yet, just click the link and get it done. It would take you the same amount of time to reply to this thread.

Signed. Couldn't we petition Congress to defund the Corps of Engineers if they continue to move forward with restricting our access to land/water that is Ours and is supposed to be held in trust for us? I would think that would get someone's attention above this "General's" head?

I am sure many of you received this email as well- here is the first part

This message is from Wade White who started the petition "U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: Stop the Restriction of Access to Public Waterways ," which you signed on Change.org.
Because we do not believe the Nashville District is forwarding information on the number of complaints we are receiving we have made the decision to ask everyone to call General Bosticks Office in Washington D.C. to file their concerns about these restrictions. Please forward this number to others and call anytime today or in next few days.
202-761-0001 This is General Bosticks Office. Be polite and voice your opposition!
The attached is an email from Judge White expressing our position and why we feel it is prudent to send a call his way.

The USCOE Ohio valley district has signage ready to be installed at each project. I think this really amazing considering they haven't even finished public meetings. The Colonel must have concluded this is a done deal no matter what the public thinks.. Call your US Congressman or Senator.

Did you guys see the update email that was sent out yesterday? Sounded promising - they are meeting with the big man to discuss the closure with him directly.

I liked all the statistics break-downs they provided in the email as well, where they basically shoot holes in all of the reasonings behind the closure. Good stuff.
