Now that we ran out of season, is anyone heading to AL on a hunt? Guided? Public land? Leases?
I have never been able to get away from work to hunt the AL Jan rut, but I sure hope to some day. I spent some time hunting in Jackson county some years ago and I really enjoyed that. Also hunted south AL many years ago in late December but the rut had not started.

I'll be heading down each of the remaining weekends. As of now, I'll be hunting all public land. I've already taken a buck on some private land we have down there back in December, but I'm backing off of it. I've never hunted public land before, so I'm pumped.

Their season closes January 31st. The all game, all year, non-resident license is almost $300.00, but it's a little easier to swallow the price for a few days of hunting. If you know you'll only have a few days to go, that might be a better option.
I'm down there so much all year long that I go ahead and spend the money on an all year one, but that's the only state I do that for.
