Would CLR be an acceptable cleaning solution for brass cases? I'm just getting started in reloading as well. Thanks guys!

Does it contain ammonia? Never, ever use anything that has ammonia in it

I used to use a vibratory unit with crushed walnut media(lizard bedding from Pet Depot)but now use a Thumler Tumbler with stainless steel pin media. I like it a lot better. No plugged flash holes and the brass is as clean inside as outside. 1 gallon of water and a couple squirts of dish washing liquid and it's ready.

I use walnut to clean and corn cob media to shine.

Thanks again guys. ;\) All I'd have to do would be to order some stainless 1/8 dowel pins and that would do the trick I would think.

DA, you maybe need to check into the stainless or ceramic media, it works wonder inside and outside the cases

I use the larger ceramic for my .40-65 blackpowder cases and once they are tumbled I do even have to touch the primer pockets

you can not use the larger ceramic media on any bottle neck type cases, it will hang up inside the case
