I don't count down...time seems to slow when you count down haha. Can't wait though you just gave me an idea.... let's all have a countdown to the end of season when the season opens, that way turkey season won't seem too short as it always does!

Took my first with a bow last year. No question (I SG as well) taking one with a broad head will be one of your most memorable hunts. Even the die-hard “lead slingers” will be impressed. Go for it!

That's what I thought as well, I wouldn't take the shot myself even if it was legal. Just dosen't seem right, let him land then SMOKE him (ha).

Yep. Turkeys' eyesight is poor in low light conditions. Shooting one off the roost is just not fair. He deserves better. I would have no sense of accomplishment.

I have friends who hunt in that general area -supposed to be some of the best turkey hunting in the country.

I used to hunt in Jackson County quite a bit, had a good spot that we normally killed a few off of. But they are some of the weirdest, somewhat mute, turkeys I have ever hunted. Hardly gobbled at all, and the terrian was very tough. I would bet most of TN is better than the spot I had access too.

Glad it's not today. Man it's not looking like turkey weather out at all. Then it might snow tonight? Who ever heard of killing a turkey in the snow in TN? Geez.
