Anyone else notice how so many former communistic governments are now embracing the capitalistic system of free enterprise?

Is the United States now headstrong on repeating the failures of communism and European socialism? Didn't the liberal elite recently say we should become more like France, and Greece?
Meanwhile in other news, America's Hollywood (i.e. of "Special Interest" to the Obama Administration) gets "special" tax breaks for being political cronies.
