Any odd caliber or just cool old guns? pretty standard here remington 30-06 for stand with longer shots and marlin 30-30 for close woods Im the same way.

I sometimes deer hunt with a 460 Weatherby Magnum with 300 grain bullets at 3,900fps. That has to be considered odd.

I like the 6.5mm caliber for deer. 260 REM, 6.5 Creedmore, or 6.5 X 55 Swede are all about perfect for deer. If you have any one of these three you don't need to buy another unless you want to.
(Sometimes I just wake up with a feeling I should carry my 270 or 243. I usually follow these feelings just for luck. )
