been a long but good day. I headed up to houston county to hunt with hunter drew. Right after first light he shot him one then about 7 19 ish i had one step out in the field about 189 yds i squeezed off and she didnt run 40 yds.

the we headed off to the main st diner in erin and had a late breakfast and met up with a co worker of mine that has land out that way. it was a great brunch and drew got to hear some wild tales

then we went out to an eve spot that produced several squirrels but no deer

quote of the day

drew " if you need to stop and take a break .. just let me know.. im used to hunting with my dad"

i now feel old good times lol

9th different county this year

I was waiting for Lade to call and tell me he was lost. (Inside joke) but I did tell him there was a fence around the place and he didn't have to worry about getting lost.

I didn't mean to make you feel old. It was great hunting with you bud. And I'm ready for next year already. This was my last hunt for the 2012 hunting season. Deer number 7 for me

Congrats DA. I thought 10 was all right but 20 deer that's a very productive season.

Nice! Now can someone explain the hole in drew's deer? I'm looking on my phone so I may not be seeing it clearly but it doesn't look like an ordinary gut job.

He cuts the hide along the ribcage to make a wider opening at the abdominal cavity. Works well, guts can come out either side or just easier in general due to better acces. DA does his similarly, the picture just doesn't show it as distinctly.

Easier access and you don't get as dirty. All I do is take the majority of the white off. The only time I don't do that is when I'm going to mount my deer
