when using 2 3/4" 1oz load out of a smooth-bore, there is a world of difference between 150 and "over 175" yards.

after 100 yards, a foster slug, or any 1oz. flat-headed piece of lead, starts to drop sharply.

almost a foot of drop at 150yds. I have shot at this distance many times at the range. can put all shots in a 9" paper plate.

maybe close to 2ft drop at 175...never tried, don't really know. Don't really want to know.
