Did you reuse that head gasket or something?

Nope that was brand new gasket when i tore it down the last time. so this time i'm going to get a used block and have it and the head checked to make sure it good. Then rebuild the whole engine from ground up. then take it easy for a little while to let the engine break in.

I know this sounds stupid but did you use a torque wrench when you put the head back on?

looks like a low spot in the head or block. No need to get used block or head, most machine shops can resuface your parts and get the low spot out of it and make it flat again. Most of the time it's the head. Another thing alot of people don't consider when doing this is, head bolt will stretch over time and should either be checked for it or replaced with new ones.

Yeap i used new head bolts and torqued them down to what it said in the book.
but the reason why i'm getting a used block and have it checked is cause this one was welded up from where it was cracked before. so i'm going to replace that and rebuild it from ground up with all new parts.
