Not bad for an East TN/Chilhowee buck. This weekend being the last hoorah my brother and I are thinking of going after him Saturday and maybe some of Sunday. Do you think he's mature though? His body size (specifically his chest) just isn't convincing me. His antlers are very characteristic of another bruiser I watched on trail cams for 2 years, but I haven't seen him this year. I'd be interested to know how old you think this guy is.

Mature or not he'd have a muzzy moment if he got near me.

I am not sure those are the same deer. The top one looks mature to me.

I agree with Diehard Hunter....I think the bucks are related but I have very serious doubts that is the same deer. Look at the drop tine on the right beam just behind the ear in the second and third pics—I see no evidence of that in the first pic. I think the top deer is 4.5—the bottom deer 3.5. Either way, either one should be very afraid if they were to step out in front of me....especially this weekend.

I was thinking the same as Diehard Hunter The first pic looks like a different deer then the other two. Pic number 1 has some indication of a 3.5 yr old deer. pics two and three have the looks of a 2.5 but the pics you have are not the best angles.

I don't want to admit it but I don't see either deer being past 3.5 either.

If it was public land I'd have to agree most likely.

I didn't know there was any part of Chilhowee Mountain outside the National Forest/Ocoee-Hiawassee Ranger District. Are there inholdings on the mountain?

That could be the same buck (the first picture is a tad fuzzy, but I can see he has G4s and I think I can see the kicker on his right side, but would need the full-size original pictures to be sure).

For mid to late December, the buck (or bucks) is at least 4 1/2.
