curious.. what does one do to qualify to be invited to the contest? congrats!
We got invited because of the Go Carnivore blog. They do accept a certain amount of applications for any team that wishes to compete.

Poser, I waas 6 years and and Mr. Grahm down the street was a real outdoorsman, always sharing panfish and game. He shot a bunch of squirrels and I was standing there watching him clean them and he gave me two that needed work. I came home carrying two squirrels and without a word my Dad jumped up, grabbed the squirrels and a kitchen knife and was yelling at Mom to get the cornbread pan out. Skinned out, crisco in the pan, cornbread heating up, one of my great memories, Dad doing the cooking, telling stories about how he was so hungry he ran them down.
If I can get home I promise to take my boys out after some. Any tips for field care, skinning, etc?
You have a great time. If you need a taster, My Wife likes anything with jalapenos.
I do the "step on the tail" technique for skinning. There are numerous YouTube videos on this. As far as field care, I do it different than most people. I skin them immediately, while they are still warm, and place them in a game bag. Squirrels are way easier to skin when warm.
