I haven't bow hunted much since 2005 or so and plan to get back in to it pretty hard next year. I want to get a Mathews. Reading about them, I see where the Reezen shows to be about the fastest single cam bow they have made over the years. However, I never see anyone talk about that bow on here. Is there a reason that I should avoid this bow if I find a good deal on one?

Which bow in the Mathews line would everyone suggest I look at? I've been researching the Heli, Z7s, and the Creed. Outside of shooting them and seeing which one I like best, is there some advice out to tell something to watch out for?

I have the Reezen and absolutely love it! It is super easy to tune. It's draw cycle isn't as smooth as some of the Mathews, but it isn't as harsh as others and it has a great backwall. It is an absolute tack driver for me and feels great in my hand. I would buy another one in a minute, if I needed one and the price is right, but I would recommend you shoot as many different models as you could and then see what feels best for you during the entire shot.

I just spent three seasons with a reezen, and I'm glad its gone. I'd suggest a Z7,or other model, speed is not everything. Shoot several Mathews bows and even their Mission line before you buy a reezen. A reezen can be had for around $400 on Archerytalk if you are deadset on one.

Perfect example of one of the things that I believe in and constantly preach when it comes to bows. Muzzymangler obviously couldn't get his Reezen out of his hand quick enough, and you couldn't pry my Reezen out of mine—everyone is different and even the same bow may feel completely different in a different hand. That is why you shoot as many different bows as you can and go with what feels best for YOU—it doesn't matter what others opinions happen to be....good or bad.

I have a Reezen 7.0 and I love it. Had it for several years.

I had a Reezen and thought it was good bow until I shot the Z7 Xtreme. There is no comparison. The Z7X is a smoother drawing and shooting bow with very little vibration. Glad the Reezen is gone.

No doubt the Z7X is a sweet shooting bow, but to me there just isn't enough "feel" difference between that and my Reezen to make me go wow and drop $750.

Their are many varibles to your question. Do u like a new bow, used bow, are u out for speed or are u out for smootness. My search last yr on a new updated mathews I looked for one to shoot around 320 and wanted it very smooth release. Much like the smoothness of my XT minus the speed. I told myself several yrs ago I was gona upgrade. Drenaline came out and it shot the same 290 that I was shooting and it had a kick to it. Dxt was excatly the same.. Then the monster came out and it had all the speed in the world but wud jump out of your hands. Then the Reezen which I loved all around but due to me fixing to be a daddy I held off another yr. Then the z7 came out and the kick was just a hair more than my Xt and speed was only 6fps faster so I wasnt gona upgrade on something not so diff from what I had. Then came the heli-m. I loved it from the first time I shot it. No kick, insainly lightweight, and got 36fps more than my XT. But it always happens every yr. Mathews comes out with something u like better and they did this yr with the new chill. No string vibration and it shot 2fps faster than my heli-m. Everybodys gona tell u what they like or have accustomed to but u need to find your bow. Shoot as many as u can. Multiple times. Hope this helps.
