Dropping a fuel tank isn't hard. Draining upwards of 26 gal. of gas is. Then, you have to put it back in place. Working against gravity is much more difficult.

I saw a Silverado sitting on the side of the road around the corner from my house. Where did you break down?

I did my own on a 98 Tahoe. I would have gladly paid $200 for the labor. Doing it by yourself sux and nobody mentioned the little special tool you have to have to disconnest the fuel lines that is a little tricky. But I did it myself because I dont know a Mechanic I could trust to clean the tank and change the filter, ect.
