We have allowed the government to overstep their boundaries. People will snap if martial law truely is going into effect. I've been stockpiling on ammo and such and basic food items. I feel confident that I could survive if need be.

The problem with stock piling is your house will not hold up against an assault from roving gangs, (mentioned before) and you will not be able to fend them off no matter how many guns you have loaded or how much ammo you have and they will be a reality.

Sure you can kill a bunch, but in the end you and your family still end up dead, which is failure. you will have to be able to move and with a family that will be hard. it will be even harder if you are trying to carry 10,000 rounds of ammo and 2 tons of food and water, plus medicine.

In addition, if this happens, hospitals and doctors will close, so kids like my 1 yr old son will be in major jeopardy of dying of sickness. unless you have the medicine they need when they get sick.

Sorry folks, don't mean to offend anyone, but if this happens holing up in your house or bunker is probably a bad idea. Sure it can work, but it could turn out bad as well, which is most likely going to be the outcome no matter what you do, but being mobile will give you more options.

The two choices will really be.

1. submit to martial law and give in to govt control.
2. fight a civil war, but that will have to be organized or you will have complete mayhem afterwards.

If you want some real life experiences google "frugal squirrel" and read what happens when the grid goes down in modern times (it actually happened), and neighborhoods had to organize to protect themselves from criminals, and what people did to keep their kids safe, and how thugs used "express kidnappings" to their benefit... Well, its too much to list here, but it all happened in real life and is interesting to see how things actually work when it hits the fan.
Between that true life account and the book listed in my earlier post you should be pretty well educated on day-to-day living, as well as how to deal with authorities and bad guys...and how to deal with folks that just need help (like the formerly middle-class single mom w/kids that shows up on your doorstep begging for food not for her, but for her baby)...
Theres a lot of info there for those inclined to be prepared but not paranoid.

First off Fed gov can try to enact martial law. Many believe the Fed Gov has more power then the States, that can only be the case if the Constitution Is stricken down. They are not ready to go that route yet. Why well you know why. Plus the Federal Gov gets their powers from the States and that is us, WE THE PEOPLE. this has been widely dismissed and twisted so most Americans be the the Fed gov has the power.

Let my also put that these so called laws NDAA, Patriot Act, they are unconstitutional. If they wanted the weapons Ban, they would have succeeded in 1963 after the assasination of Kennedy. They tried the UN tried they failed.

Also deploy of military troops would be a violation as well, That would then be the Govoner's job of every state to call up the Militia ( US let me say that again US) (2nd admendment) to fight if needed against the Federal military and the Tyranical Government. The Govenors are commander and chief of the National Guard and Militia. Not the President. I wont debate this its pure Fact.

State of TN Constitution over rides The Feds( sorry for you non believers) read below and this is also derived from the United States Constitution.

Section 25. That no citizen of this state, except such as are employed in the
army of the United States, or militia in actual service, shall be subjected to
punishment under the martial or military law. That martial law, in the senseof the unrestricted power of military officers, or others, to dispose of the persons,
liberties or property of the citizen, is inconsistent with the principles of
free government, and is not confided to any department of the government of
this state.

I've been sitting in it on two other occasions...Y2K and most recently 12/21/12.......maybe one day I'll be right and the rest of my friends will be wrong.

Good luck to you all during the upcoming apocalypse.

All you are doing here is making fun of YOURSELF.

Martial law is REAL, it's in the law books of the federal govt and every single state in the country.

All though American history martial law HAS been decleared several times. Aside from the American Civil War, which saw the whole country come under martial law for almost 4 years, there are 12 times the Federal govt decleared martial law. Several states inculing TENNESSEE decleared martial law in parts of the state like when King was killed in Memphis. In each of thiose times martial law was used AMERICANS DIED either before and/or after the law was decleared.

So what you tried to do here was to make fun of something you knew nothing about.

Nothing ever happens, and nothing can happen...until it does.

Once martial law is declared the rules change, or more accurately, are suspended. There is more to it than that, but too much to get into here. If you are a student of the law AND know how things work in the real world, it makes a facinating study.
