Fellas,

I know NOTHING about GPS devices, so naturally the fire department selected me to find some for us. \:D

The only iron clad requirement is that we are able to enter longitude and latitude and it give us directions to those coordinates.

Can any of ya recommend a good quality unit that is fairly easy to use?

Looks like you need a GPS to find your way around the forums.

Are you going to be using it for the woods or for streets? My new Android phone came with a GPS and it totally outperforms my Garmin Rino and Nuvi. Don't get me wrong those are both fine units but the Android GPS is much better. This thing even has a birds eye view feature- just as you'll see en route to the destination

No you are not. US congress needs to know this too since they don't have have a clue about where they are or where they are going.

And, "Mega Dittos", for Obama!

Maybe what Obama needs is a GPS to direct the teleprompter!

I would say it would be close to 100% street use. They are GPS mapping all of Fentress county's fire hydrants, thus the need.

I have 1 Garmin Nuvi and I also have a TOM-Tom. If the FD just has to have a mobile GPS, I would stick with a Tom Tom... The Garmin requires you to pay for updates. The Tom Tom gives you free updates and seems to have more cool features.

Is the Tom Tom hand held?
