my truck died on me on the way home yesterday and my brother came to try and help me get it going and when we couldn't he recommened i have it towed to chritian brothers automotive and they couldn't get to it till today and they determined that i needed a new fuel pump and the guy calls me a few minutes ago with the estimate i was shocked to say the least its an 02 silverado and the pump is in the tank i going to have it towed home tomorrow and see if i can get the guy that works on our tractors to check it out for me the truck has 132000 on it and other issues going on and the guy must of thought i fell off the turnip truck yesterday i started to tell him why don't you just pull out a gun and rob me

Do it yourself.THey are not that hard to put on.Just drop the fuel tank and it comes out of the top,very easy to take in and out.Sounds like a big job,but it really isn't.

Shouldn't be much over $600. I think the fuel pump for that truck is about $400 I would get $200 plus cost of fuel pump if I was doing it.

Drop the tank, not that big of a deal....or if you have access to a couple of buddies just take the 6 bolts off of the bed and take the bed off—that's even easier.

I've done several fords and a toyota and we never had to pull the bed off to take the tank off.Maybe a Chevrolet is different,but I wouldn't think so.Have you ever replaced a fuel pump on a truck?

You can buy that pump for 250 if you shop around.. Not a horrible job
