Kahr PM9. I love mine. I hate my Crossbreed Holster though. I have to get a different one. Thinking about a Milt Sparks.
Finding a holster is just as important as your firearm.

If it was me.. and assuming I had no other handguns, it would be a G19, a G23, or a G26. The G19 (9mm) and G23 (.40) are the same dimensions, just different calibers. The G26 (9mm) is slightly smaller.
My next purchase will be the Springfield XD-S (.45). I can't wait to get my hands on one.
Also.. I would highly consider the Ruger LCP or S&W Bodyguard (both .380). They are small, but very easy to conceal.
I copy/pasted my answer below from another thread someone started with the same question.
---
The best advice you can get is to buy something you're comfortable with. Don't buy something you feel is too heavy or too big. It doesn't do you any good if you leave it at home. Don't buy something based on "cool factor". A carry gun is a tool - not a toy.
There's a saying... a mouse in the pocket is better than a lion at home. A full size 1911 may seem great, but if you get tired of trying to conceal it or find that it's too long or too heavy, you'll wind up not carrying it with you.
The second best piece of advice you can get is to buy a quality belt. Don't depend on some average department store belt to hold up well. Buy a stiff, quality belt and it will make carrying much more comfortable (assuming you'll be carrying a belt-attached holster).
This guy makes great belts that last for years. The belt I'm wearing right now came from him about 7 years ago.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Glock - I'm a little biased towards them. I would also not hesitate to buy a Gen 4. I have not had any problems out of mine. However, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Gen 3 either. Personal preference.
I think the G19, G23, and G26 are great options.
Also consider looking at the S&W MP Shield or the Springfield XDS. Both are nice compact guns, although they don't have the magazines capacity of the Glocks.
