Can someone tell me the size flip up caps for a Nikon BuckMaster 3x9x50. I was told that the eye was #17 and Obj. was #43. I bought some today, the #17 eye was perfect , but #43 Obj. was way too tight. I'm thinking that a #46 might work??Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, David

i bought the wrong size twice.. Finally i asked/made a sales associate take the same scope I have out of their display, and we went and tried several different flip-up caps till I found the right ones.

I did the same thing this year gtk. Aggravating trying to find the right size info anywhere online.
According to the Nikon site, the outside diameter of the Object (3-9x50 Buckmaster) is 2.43".
According to the Butler Creek site, the size of the #43 you purchased is for a 2.310" object. Like you said.. that's too small.
A #46 that you mentioned is 2.43". I think that's the fit you'll want.
Give me another 10 minutes and I'll see which size I chose for my scope.

Ok.. follow-up. The outside diamer of my scope is 1.8" (a 3-9x40). I put a size #25 cover on there, which is also 1.8" according to the chart above. It fits perfectly.
By that logic, I believe you are right - I think you'd need a 46.

I will never buy another Butler Creek lens cap. I've had several to break on me while I'm in the woods. I generally deer hunt in the late season when it is cold out. The plastic material snaps very easily when it's cold.

Never had a problem with mine. But will keep a close eye on them!

Ok, I put a #46 on the obj. and it was perfect. The eye is #17. Thanks Nyper for your help. David
