I planted about 25 shrubs on my Tree Farm in Humphrey's County and they began to bear heavily this past fall, in their 3rd year. They are doing very well but I haven't seen any browsing or use of the berries. They are growing under pines in partial shade. I have been told the shrubs are low value for wildlife but others told me they are good for wildlife so I consider my planting an experiment. Surprisingly the berries taste pretty good and just last Sunday I stopped by for a snack on my way back from my morning deer hunt. I suggest a small planting as an experiment and see what happens on your property.
