The 2013 Rendezvous will be held on Saturday February 2, 2013 at Montgomery Bell State Park.
Sign in will begin at 8:00 a.m. that Saturday morning.
We will update an agenda as we get more details as to speakers etc.
I will let everyone know we got an even later than normal start on this and every sponsor I have contacted thus far has either said, we will get back to you, or have balked completely on the donation of door prizes.
With the economy the way it is I can fully understand because until about a month ago the likelyhood of even having a vous was a breath away of not even happening.
I just couldn’t NOT let the vous happen though, just too much fun and too good an opportunity to see the best people in the state.
We will make it happen and it will be fun, there is no doubt about that.
I am working on a couple “surprises” for the Friday night prior to the vous as well. I will update on these as I can as well.
As always, the Friday night before the vous is not the actual vous and is more just people that have to travel and spend the night get together and have a more adult oriented style of fun and fellowship.
It is more of the deer camp, campfire setting as to conversation etc.
Always some good food though.
We have all the cabins (minus one that was already booked) and either 25 or 30 hotel rooms blocked off for us.
When you call to make your reservation MAKE SURE you use the group code 6895.
Again, I apologize for the very very late notice and I hope you call can make it.
One more thing, please post on this thread if you are coming and how many are in your party so we can plan the schedule for Saturday to the best of our ability.

I've never been to this before and it's only 10 miles from my house.. What can y'all tell me about this??
Friday is a casual gathering with folks bringing in food to share, a big grill or two going, and a chance to meet folks face to face. The evening often produces a poker game over in some corner, possibly a few guitars come out. There will be some drinking going on by a few, and plenty who abstain and just sit and share stories and laugh.
Saturday is a bit more structured, and may feature TWRA speakers, input from biologists, some hunting lies and more. There are usually some door prizes and a few silent auction items raising money for a charitable cause.
At 10 miles away, you owe it to yourself to try both venues! Hope you make it.

Am sending some MB-650 coyote traps to the Vouz auction with Brandon Elmore. I forgot how many I had dropped off to him last year but he was unable to make it and didn't get them to the Vouz. I hope somebody will be able to operate those 650's and save some fawns next spring by pounding on some coyotes with them. They are a great coyote trap made by one of my clients.
I have a football game in New Orleans I will be attending on Sunday so you boys get it going this year!

Is there a itinerary for whats gonna go down saturday? Whose speaking and what not?? I've never been to a vous,would really like to make it to this one,but at a 360 mi round trip,Im just not sure if im gonna have the extra gas money.

There is supposed to be a block of rooms reserved for our group..... if you want to get the reduced group rate, be sure to use the group number Ruger listed in the first post.
You can call to reserve a room, they won't charge your card until you check in.... not sure if there is a cancellation charge after a set time or not.
I want to say it was somewhere around $75

I wish I could but stik saves vacation for hunting and those stinking 4 day weeks they have. I can get up early enough. They can bake while I get dressed.

Ok ,,, despite Ruger ignoring my pm , you good folks on here have convinced me!
I will be there with some rocks and some door prizes . Will also bring 10-12 bags of our new ground product. (30 lb) . If someone wants to start a list that's ok or you can pm me with your real name and I will hold your order till 8:00 sat morning then it's first come first served. Reason being several people ordered last year and didn't bother to show or cancel their order .
I plan on getting there Fri afternoon and maybe participate in a little poker, so you can get your TR early or maybe win it and my truck the way I have played in the past.

Regret to say my wife and I now will not be there. I had really looked forward to it but my wife is a little spooked after my last trip to the heart doctor. It is over 300 miles one way for us and my wife is worried I will have a heart problem that far from home and have to end up in the hospital. Ya'll have a great time and I will try my best to be there next year.

I will try to come, I just live about 30 minutes from there but I have to see if I can get free that weekend (wife's birthday is that weekend) If I can and we need a smoker I have 3 pretty big smokers, I can bring one. One will hold about 1,000 lbs of meat if we need one that big.
Hopefully I can come I've never been to one. I will update later if I know for sure I can.
