You west tn guys don't know how good you got it. I don't follow this?? Pretty sure OP hunts middle TN, which is typically good deer hunting too.

Man, I am SOOOO glad you didn't take my advice and abandon your spot to go somewhere else. I'll eat crow when I have to...I was wrong! Congrats - I know what it feels like to get the "I'm skunked" feeling and not feel like going, but "good on ya" for sticking with it. The mark of a dedicated hunter to stick with it in the face of adversity After that experience, I guess you are especially bummed to be losing access to the property. I hope something else opens up for you.
Thanks everyone.
Yeah after finally seeing some bucks I'm disappointed to be losing access. And to imagine what it would be like with just a bit of work, food plots, minerals, lane clearing, a few more stands/blinds. Of the first 4 bucks, 2 were just young, the six may have been an 8 with broken times, but with the fog/mist it was hard to tell, and the last one had a nice body, but never got a good look at him again fog/mist and him hugging the thicket the tightest. That alone almost made me shoot him, figured that habit, might mean he was the most mature.
Also, there was so many tracks, and poop was everywhere. I had been hearing less and less early morning shots when I was out there and maybe everyone else got thier fill of venision so the deer were not feeling the other pressure, who knows deer are wierd creatures.
I do know if I was there again, I'd lag bolt some pulleys in select spots to help with creek bed drags. That was an agonizing 2 hours. I am definately feeling old today .
