Found out when I bought my trail camera that if you put the card into my regular digital camera (Panasonic Lumix FX75) my camera will read the pics from the Moultrie. So when I check my cam I just switch the cards, look at pics, put the card back in the Moultrie and go on my way. Before I got the Lumix I used to use Nikon Coolipix cameras and they would only read photos that the camera itself took, so not all cameras could do this trick, but mine does. Anyone else use this trick?

i bought my father a trail cam a few years ago for christmas and he doesnt use computers and couldnt seem to figure out how to use it on the tv so i looked at his digital camera and found out that it also worked with the standard sd card. I also found out that one of my mothers digital picture frames took a standard sd card and worked really well and it had a 6x9 screen.

I had a coolpix L6 in the past and I remember it wouldn't read any other pics I put on the card. But there are a lot of coolpix models so yours may be different.

my old coolpix was a lot older model than 2 years ago, they have probably changed somewhat. There are a lot of different coolpix that have been made. I switched to the lumix and I love it, not gonna switch back.

My canon rebel can read the cards from my moultrie. It's too big to haul in so I just swap cards. My TV has a card reader in it and I tend to look at the pics in a 50" version.

It has nothing to do with the cameras themselves being compatible - it's the type of cards that each one uses.

There are two common limitations - some can't read cards larger than a certain capacity (e.g. compatible up to 4MB SD card), or the cards themselves are different types.

The most common "type" differences are SD and SD-HC - the "HC" stands for "high capacity", which is a newer technology that lots of cameras (especially older ones) can't use.

I'd definitely recommend using the memory card compatability as a screening tool for what type of cameras you buy. My trail camera will use SD or SD-HC cards, but the point-and-shoot camera I carried would not read the HC ones. The next digital camera I buy will, especially since they've gone down in price so much.

I recently got my wife an Iphone, she gave me her old droid and it has one of those micro SD cards in it. My question is....Could I use the SD/micro combo in a Cam and then remove the micro card from the SD/microSD card and view pics on the phone? I think I just confused myself. \:\) I think im gonna try it anyway, they have those combo cards at Kroger for around 12 bucks. Ill be sure to report back.

yes you can do that. I just bought a micro/adapter combo from Walmart for my moultrie. 8 gb for about 9 or 10 bucks, Wally is a lot cheaper than Kroger. I just put the card in my trail cam, took a test pic of myself, then put the card in my point n shoot camera and it read it just fine. If your droid takes the micro you can just pull the card out of the adapter to put it on the phone.
