Last night the does I saw came from the bedding thicket through the grassy field out into the cut field around sunset. Today I decided to set up closer to where they traveled because most were out of bow range yesterday. Well I was walking along the edge, about to sneak into the tall grass, and I bumped the whole herd, bedded down right by the edge of the field, now they are back in the thicket where I thought they would be but there's no telling if and when they will come back out, and where they will go. I'm sitting where most of them came through yesterday so it's just a shot in the dark to see if they come back through again before it gets dark. Here's to hoping...

Good Luck.

They didn't come back but some did sneak out into the cut field, as I saw on my way out. Tried to close the distance between me and one doe but she never got behind the bush like I needed so I just walked slowly at full draw till she blew and bolted with another deer that had been behind the bushes. Too many different ways they can go in the evening, just a matter of setting up in the right spot at the right time. Got one more evening I will try before season ends. I did find a bone pile with a perfectly intact doe skull, been there a while but in perfect shape. Gonna clean it off and put it on the shelf or something.
