Once again thanks for all the info guys! I've been doing a lot of reading on these links yall provided and have learned a lot already, and think I have a pretty good idea about what I want to get. For you guys who have established fruit trees, how much would you say they benefit your overall management program? I have hunted as long as I can remember but really just got started in the last couple years trying to better manage my property. I can tell incredible benefits from my food plots and was just wondering how much benefit you guys see from your trees.

I will say that I bought 12 pear trees last year that were 8-10 feet tall. Then I wrapped them with tubes to decrease the rubbing, the deer didnt care, they just ate all the leaves and most of the branches off.I planted another 30 this fall and used 2x4 wire to cage all of them.Used stakes to secure the cages.I will add that the tobacco sticks make terrible stakes, the deer just break them off at the ground. The best stake Ive found is 1/2" conduit, cut in half gives you a permanent,re-usable stake that will last forever.

Tell him your goals and situation. He willl tell you what you need and you can order from him. The trees will be better than most anything you are going to find in a TN nursery.

Steven is spot on with this guy. I just found him by mistake on the website after a person I met suggested a particular apple tree. Quick call back, lots of suggestions, and I have four more apple trees headed my way NOW. I previously was dealing with growers out of the north so my trees could not be planted until their thaw which really stressed me and my new trees when the late spring drought started up. Now I can get them in ahead of schedule and hopefully a better start in case of summer drought.
