Interesting,My jug still has the Fox & Co $27 price tag on it..This one jug will last me a long time,so I don't know when i'll have to order from them again.

I called over today with plans to run over and get some. They said it wasn't in stock. If you are by anytime in the near future and find it there, please shoot me a pm.

Their staff was nice on the phone.

Thanks!

I'm watching this closely. Tar12's got me talked into trying this with the 300g Barnes O and I may have some time to experiment in TN in a couple of weeks.

It is hard to argue with success. This was the very first 300 yd group I ever shot with the 60 grn of N120,Harvester BCR,Fed 209A,and the .458 BO. 3in. of drift this day.3 shot group. 3in CTC.I held for to much! The rifle used was a .50 cal bedded/3rd pillar in a custom Rayhill Stock from Stockade Stocks that I built for my son.

I have harvested hundreds of deer(literally) with this combo. My son and I hunt the regular season plus do depredation control work.I have never recovered a BO out of all of these deer.Typically it is a .45 hole in and a avg. of a 1.5 exit hole. The BO will not fail and will take a deer out at any angle due to its .032 jacket. This was "THE" original dangerous big game bullet. It is tough and requires a stout kick in the backside to wring out all of its potential. The load mentioned is not for the recoil shy. It is manageable but is not for everyone.Just being honest.I dial it in for 3.5 high @ 100 yds, dead on @ 200 yds and 18 in. low @ 300 yds. This bullet will not "frag" and will take out any bone it encounters with out the unecessary collateral damage that you get from the thinner skinned pistol bullets. The BO is a true rifle bullet and acts like it on every level. After running approx. 12 lbs of N120 through the .50 cals it is in my humble opinion the best .50 cal load going.

Here is a pic from the "Thanksgiving Day Massacre" closest shot was 18 yds and the last doe did not run far enough and she was taken out at 262 yds.The gun pictured is my bedded/pillared .50 cal in a Rayhill Mule Deer stock. That gun is now sporting a .45 Pac-nor 1-22 twist...thats another story..lol

Tar12, thanks so much for sharing what you've learned over the years. I feel almost like I'm cheating when I take what other people have shared with me and have success.

I took DA's recommendation of 67g 4198 and 300gSST and my barrel loved it. I've killed 22 with it on shots out to 215 yards, and I've loaned it out to others who have loved it.

I'm hoping to pick up some bullets and powder and try it out in a couple of weeks. If I can make it work, I'll keep you updated.

It is all about helping people out! When I started shooting smokeless back in 2000 I was on my own. That was a serious learning curve! lol I was delirious with joy when I discovered Dougs Message Board! lol
