I found two of these on my land and confiscated them. What are my rights & responsibilities with regard to this? Should I drop them off at a local TWRA office? Are they my property to dispose as I wish? What if the owner shows at my house inquiring about them? They were a couple of hundred feet or more inside my property line, so there should not have been confusion on placement. They had been maintained very recently so they were in active use. Makes me nervous when I find evidence on someone trespassing on my land. You never know what all someone might be up to.

You would need to check with a lawyer on the disposal issues. A trapper would have tohave your written permission to be trapping on your property, so there is no doubt that without it the traps were there in violation of the statute.

Aren't all traps required to be labeled with the owners information as well?
