its a cold day rainy winter thingy for me, turn off the house heat fire up the 35,000 btu burner, open the back door to let cool air in while I cast about 100 per casting session, it takes about 55 seconds to cast the quality type boolit that I want to shoot
so far I have 247 bullets that weigh between 421.9 grains and 422.2 grains, a person can not buy a cast boolit of this quality
I plan on casting about 2400 by the end of January

I assume you're shooting them as cast. How are you lubing them and with what?

shooting as cast, I am using a Paul Jones custom mold, the base diameter is perfect according to my calipers, I also pan lube as to not distort the bullet base
I am using DGL lube, I switched from SPG last year, the DGL will give me the lube star thingy on crown of barrel, the SPG was not holding up to the crown

I always seem to do my casting in the winter after hunting season...garage is much cooler.
How any rejects are you getting per 100 good boolits?

my last casting of about 60 bullets I only had 1 that was not in the 421.9 - 422.2 range, it weighed 423, I have not figured that one out yet.
If I keep the pot as close to 750 and I can and keep the cadence count in line, they will fall out perfect about every 50 seconds

That is incredible. Patience, consitency and a proven alloy make the difference. Im still happy with my boolits not having wrinkles or pockets...LOL.

my first ones 3 years ago were horrible, up to 5 grains variation, I finally ruined a mold while I was learning
I googled the 8 steps of casting, basically memorized that
my mold maker Mr Paul Jones helped me more than anything as what to do in heating up mold and to always keep his type mold over the pot except when dropping the boolit
