What about flying squirrells, legal or illegal to kill.. illegal after having a nest of them in our attic insulation, well, lets just leave it at that.......

What about flying squirrells, legal or illegal to kill.. illegal after having a nest of them in our attic insulation, well, lets just leave it at that....... Wouldn't that damage rule apply here? I wouldn't think you would have to let them live in your attic. That makes them the same as a rat in my book. I don't want any critters scratching around in the ceiling above me.

I don't want any critters scratching around in the ceiling above me. yeah chipmunks and flying squirrels have both caused damage, I just like to limit what I say on a forum, if you know what I mean. I wouldn't just go out and "hunt" the rodents outside my yard if there is no hunting season for them. But if they invade the house, they are in a lot of danger. I have various weapons...

And, if they are in your house, causing damage, they are yours to kill (with the exception of the federally protected ones).

wish a deer would walk in my house then...might be the only way for me to get one this year haha

The landowner damage statute requires a depredation permit for big game such as deer, so you would need to have your local officer on speed dial.
