tarsal glands?

So the doe I shot today had very dark tarsal glands how do this go about with the rut does it last till season normally over or till breed time is over seeing that I havent seen chasing in my area but sure it has happened.

i have only cut them from bucks during rut,sure it is same with does!or cut them anytime and add scent to later?

I agree with FootballHunter, Do not add any scent to them. with that said I have never used Tarsal glands from a doe. I Have used with much success tarsal glands from bucks in the past

Some does stain their tarsals (by urinating over them) just like bucks. This behavior is certainly linked to the breeding process, but I wouldn't place too much emphasis on whether or not does have stained tarsals (in essence, it doesn't mean that much about rut timing).

My Son killed a buck yesterday that was with a doe and his tarsals were solid black and stunk to high heaven!

should have worded better,i only cut off bucks,heard of people doing the same to does in heat..putting scent on them was a question?
