Is that a manual safety I see? Looking at getting a new pistol and have been leaning toward a .40 but...

Good looking gun J.C.W. I carry concealed 99.9% of the time. If I'm working in the hood I will open carry with two eyes looking behind me and one looking forward. \:\) I want everyone there to know that I've got a weapon.

No "badge" needed, you can carry any way you want, it's a "handgun carry permit", no need to go concealed.
Personal choice.

It does have a manual safety but also an additional safety feature on the trigger and it has a red bar that pops up on the top rail when there is a bullet in the chamber

Nice choice J.C.W.
Yes you can carry either way.

Now.Open or concealed?

Several years ago while on a hunt near Carbondale Co. My hunting friends and i went into town one night to clean up and have a nice meal.Walked in this nice looking bar and restaurant.Everyone was openly packing.Yes even at the bar.I asked our waitress if everyone there was carrying. She hiked up her skirt and showed a derringer under her garter belt.
I said "Wow this must be on bad arse place.
Her rely."No everyone packs, everyone knows it and we dont have any problems at all."

In my opinion. If these "crazys" shooting up our schools, malls and churches would think twice about it if they see many people with arms on their sides.

As someone else said.Show me one instance where a "crazy" shoots a permit holder who is carrying openly.

More open carry.Let the people get used to it.
