1st-for Christmas my inlaws got me a box of 38 special +p. I can shoot those in my 357 mag right?
2nd-I know it is definitely the wrong time but I would like to do a lot more shooting than I do now. I've got a 9mm pistol and .223 bolt rifle I would like to shoot more. What is a good NON-PANIC buying price for these rounds. I would like a few thousand rounds of 9mm and a few hundred rounds of .223

38+P is good to go in any 357 Mag,,,I really like shooting my 223`s alot also but I am gonna try and slow down on them for time being,,
I have everything put up except my CZ 455 Varmint 22LR and the Savage 338 Lapua..
there are no good prices on anything you just have to get what you can find as cheap as you can find it,,

Prior to the current panic, bulk .223 steel case could be bought for about $200 per thousand. Brass case for about $325 per thousand. Not sure about 9mm since I shoot .40 and .45, but brass case .40 S&W was running about $350 per thousand and 9mm is always a bit cheaper. It will be a while before prices get back down near those levels, but it at least gives you a reference to compare to.

With the price of ammo you may wanna consider reloading. The initial cost is high but a friend is reloading 223 for about 6$ a box. If you shoot alot it'll pay for itself in a hurry. Just remember to save your brass or its not really worth it.

I shoot the 69 SMK and 25 grs Varget with CCI 400 primers,, it costs me 150$ per 500 rounds to load,,
for 55 FMJ I can load 1,000 for around 200$$

I do not realy know what you save reloading if you consider every thing even your time ( my dad said you can't count your time). I injoy it and can try match the loads to the gun.
