Im thinking about a 17HMR for my PD trip, which model do yal like? I know MR. BIG has a CZ that is very accurate. But I will put a scope on it with at least a 18x so I can see what Im doing out at 200 yards. Thanks for the help.

Where are you hunting p-dogs? The biggest issue we had to deal with while out in South Dakota was the wind. 36mph winds made the shots a little tougher. Something to think about if using a .17.

the 452 varmint first choice,,then the 455 varmint ,,but really the 455 varmint in 22LR I have is very accurate, the 452 may hold its value better as they are discontinued,,
any of the other models with sights are just as accurate but the stocks are a little low for scopes,,

The 17 may be OK out to 200yrds. I get my fun shooting them past 400yrds and watching tem turn int0 a red mist. The wind is a big factor. My cals. are 204, 223, 22-250 and 243. The 243 holds up good in the wind and suprising so does the 204. The winds where I go have been known to be steady at 30mph with gusts past 45mph. The CZ is not a bad choise.

This coming year will be my 4th trip out to the "Wide Open Spaces" I also carry a Savage 204, and my 22-250 AI custom. I just wanted something else to take along. And yes, the wind is "tricky" to say the best. The first year, we had 26gr. varment granades, and the wind would just blow them all over the place, but that was sendng it 300 plus yards away
