I know that a lot of the members on this forum are planning on building shooting houses for next season, so I thought that any members here could post photos of their shooting houses that they have or ones they have seen that look rarely easy to build. And yes, I realize there is a book at the top of the page where you can buy to get the plans but I have built plenty, personally I'm just interested in seeing different designs others may use or techniques I had not thought of, so if you want to post me put them up.

Funny, every year my Hunting partner and I swear we will build one as we're freezing our cans off. Heated, Camo'd up, Cooler. That's as far as it gets though. "For sure this year"

I had an idea of a shooting house during Christmas, build a platform using decking material and 2X6's about 6'square and elevate 12-18ft with 4x4s and those elevators. Then, just put a ladder up to the top (I use half an extension ladder.)Put one of those 2 man ground blinds on the platform and walla. When season is over, take the ground blind down and put it away saving wear and tear on it.Id build a rail around the outside still so I couldnt fall out regardless.

I have debated on doing this numerous times... just have not done it yet.

I am planning on building 2 since my kids are younger and love to hunt. I'm also going to insulate them to make them as sound proof as possible because the kids seem to always be hacking, coughing, and snotting during the winter. I am thinking a 4x8 will work for me and 2 kids and still not be to cramped. I too would like to see some others plans and or finished houses.

I have 2 shooting houses, and I put hinged plexiglass windows on all sides. I highly recommend them. They can be closed in really cold weather, but allow you to still see outside, or you can close off one side to keep the incoming wind off you. This makes a huge difference in staying warm. I also put a piece of old carpet on the floor to keep noise down.
