What dumbA$$ fires a rifle up into a tree while deer hunting! I always wear it when I'm not 30 feet off the ground. If I do get shot while on a 30-40' perch, it was my time to go anyway
That hunter could be on a hill on the same plane as you sitting in your stand...with orange he could see you and not fire that way...maybe

Just wear it. I've worn it bow hunting quite a few times and the deer seem to react the same as if I wasn't wearing it in bow season

I've been wearing orange bowhunting since the first week of November. For some reason I get busted less when there are no cover on the trees then I do during early bow season. Deer look at me then just keep walking.

I'm a landowner in the flat swamps of West TN and don't wear the orange in the stand. I sure like having it when I am on the ground though - especially in the brush retrieving a deer.

What moron shoots at an unidentified target? I wear my orange, not because I have to, but because there are idiots who "ground check" whatever movement they see. I know hunter shootings happen by pure accident (along with ignorance) sometimes but they certainly shouldn't. In reality there should be no need for an orange law.

Yes unless you are covered under the landowner exemption. IMO its still a good idea to wear it even if you don't have to.
Exactly, I just hunt on private land but I never trust a stupid poacher with my life.....wear your orange, the deer can't see it.

Because there is a TVA line running thru one of the properties I hunt. I carry a extra orange vest with me. I hang it on a fence post so it can be seen from the road and from the property line hunters stands. I was pleased to have someone come and Thank me for it this year. I was told it is a constant reminder that some else is in the woods hunting while he is sitting in the box stand in his backyard.
