I never ever ever hunt evenings...... I only hunt Mornings...
Well, it seems that lately every time I do get to hunt it is pouring rain... So I figure I may try my spot tomorrow evening... The rain is supposed to move out by then....
Any suggestions on this?
Just hunt it the same?

Hunting just after a good rain can be very productive, especially if the rain was hard enough that the deer didn't move much in it. If it was just a light shower, that won't affect them.
Use it to your advantage to slip in quietly. In the late season, it's generally true that fields and food plots are more productive than the mornings. Some theorize that, especially if there is a hard frost in the mornings, they prefer to eat the green stuff after it has thawed. Perhaps there are other factors as well.
I'm in a similar boat - I haven't had the chance to hunt the evenings a single time this entire season. I'd really like to give it a shot, though!

May I ask why you don't hunt afternoons?

Ok. Didn't know if there was a tactical reason. "Boss" reasons are another story

I like hunting evenings, it just tends to be a bit more of a pain if you shoot a deer just before dark to have to track, gut, drag, load in boat, then load boat in truck after dark, than in the morning. This especially applies when quartering/butchering are involved. The last deer that I shot in the PM got finished being put in the cooler at 10:30 PM, since I had to work the next morning and couldn't put anything off until the next day.
I usually have good success in the PM, though. Tactics will be dictated by the land and herd that you hunt.

Here recently with the weather the deer seem to be moving a bit earlier in the day. We will be out after them Friday evening if the rain lets up and Saturday AM for sure.

Just hunt it the same? Wheater you are on the ground or in a tree find a spot that is well hidden and on down wind side. They do hit the fields the last hour or so of day light to eat. Seem to feed inthe fileds much in the PM in late season than in AM.

I always saw more deer and preferred evening hunts. However, with the drive I have now to hunt, I hunt the mornings only. I've tried all day sits, but if I'm not seeing some deer activity, I get bored and leave by 100PM.

The classic reason is family obligations. My wife and kids often don't have much scheduled until 10-11 AM on a Saturday, but there's almost always something going on at 3 in the afternoon Just speaking for myself, though.
You didnt even have to give an explanation. I knew u were a guy that had his priorities in line when u said busy life. I choose not to hunt evenings much myself. My wife teaches and son is in daycare. If I hunted evenings to when could I be a father or husband? Evertime I do tho I feel guilty. Good luck to u tho.

Afternoon hunts takes a thought process. Saturday afternoons are not a problem but Sunday afternoon its fair game up until an hour before daylight. Then it turns into buck only after that. I would just suck it up with the work involved for a buck but not going to mess with a doe right at dark if I have to go to work the next day.

I am mainly a morning hunter as well due to the reasons some of you have already mentioned. Seems to be easier to hunt mornings with a wife and two little ones. I also usually see more deer in the morning where I hunt.
