I tell you what, if you have a place I will come up there to go with you, if you don't, you guys come down here and stay with us, we can hunt AEDC.
I'm curious to know what choke tube you were looking at.... What shotgun do you hunt with and what shells were you going to be trying out?
Do you have a turkey vest yet?

Cannot remember the name of the choke tube that was recommended by a lot of people that used the same shotgun that I use. It is a Remington 870 in 20 gauge. Also cannot remember the name of the shells. I think they had 7 1/2 size shot. Like I said, my memory was really affected. I sometimes bump into people I used to work with in the store and they have to tell me who they are.
I don' have a turkey vest, but have a camo vest I use to dove hunt with. I also have a seat that is designed to turkey hunt with.

I have an extra vest as well (guest vest), yours if it will fit and you want it.
I looked over several threads on the 20ga.... most were trying the Indian Creek, Pure Gold, or Jelly Head chokes.... seen a few with the SSX.... using the Federal shells, either the ones with the flight control wad or the new Heavy Weight shells.... some using the Hevi-13.... most seemed to be in the #7 size shot.... a few that were lead, #6's....
All in your budget my friend.... .555 -.572 are the range constrictions I saw...

Thanks, I don't make them, there are several good call makers that I buy from over on OldGobbler.com
Griz, it was the Jelly Head choke tube I was looking to buy and was going to try Heavi Shot #7 in my shotgun. Used to have a 12 gauge Remington 1187 that I had sold early in the spring. Wish now that I had not sold it since I am going to get serious about turkey hunting and want to try duck hunting again. But, I will make the 20 gauge work.
You can always buy you another 12ga later.... The #7's should work fine, just have to pattern your gun and see how they do and what your effective range will be.
Another thing I would suggest you do is polish your barrel... you can find the directions here:
http://oldgobbler.com/Forum/index.php/topic,182.0.html
One thing it didn't mention was not to let the brush/pad run out the end of the barrel.... it will sling that black slurry all over the place.
If you are fairly mechanically inclined, you shouldn't have a problem.... if you don't want to fool with it, get it to me somehow and I will do it for you.... I have done most of mine and it helps with patterns and cleaning. I usually do a refresh every other season or so.

I used to operate heavy equipment, I know what you mean.... I was single back then and enjoyed the time off to hunt.
