As some of you know . I was toying with the idea of selling my paratrooper sks, one more quick look at what there going for changed my mind , gunbroker has one with a bid of 670 , I saw a few others on different sites ranging between 500 and 1200 , I was shocked , but guess I better hold onto it for awhile now

I can remember back in the 90s when those things where everywhere for $50 and as much ammo as you could want with them for next to nothing...we all took it for granted that they would be around for a long time for that price. I remember guys coming to the archery shop (Ed's Sport Shop) when he started selling them...he would get in a whole UPS truck load of SKS's and the guys would be there going through the boxes as they were unloading them and would buy truck loads of them. $50 for most and $75 for the ones with better stocks and such. Now they are $700+.

The only people paying $700+ for an SKS are people who are panic buying. SKS's are simply not worth that much, period. Pre-panic prices were $300-500, depending on condition and accessories.
And even those prices are IMHO too high - they really should only be a $200-$300 gun, tops.

BTW, to the OP who saw the high prices and decided to hold on - if you want to get those kinds of prices, you better sell NOW... If you wait you will more than likely see prices fall back down to the range I mentioned earlier.

Sell. You were going to anyway and the price will drop in a few months.
