By the way. She will introduce that bill in the US Senate on Jan 2, 2013. it then goes to the Judiciary Committee of which SHE will become Chairman when the new Congress starts on Jan 2, 2013.
Anybody accecpting bets on if it will make it though?????
I'll take that bet. I say it will not pass.

I don't mean to argue.. but I read somewhere earlier that she will not be the chairman. Leahy is remaining. He is also a Dem and also voted for the last assault weapons ban. It may still get through committee eventually... but man let's hope not. Let's hope it gets kicked back and people can cool down and use common sense.

Making a bill though committee and passing the full Senate is two different things.
The place where the first "changes" happen is in the committees and since she is to be the Chairman it will sail though her committee and go to the Senate floor. I think it will opass the Senate easy but changes will be nmade in the House but not enough to help us. It will pass on to Obama will few changes.

Has about as much chance of passing as a Nationwide round-up and deport Illegal Aliens Bill(which I would support)
...and about as effective as a screen door on a submarine.
*Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment;
*Exempting over 900 specifically-named weapons used for hunting or sporting purposes; and
Those 2 exemptions are 2 of the main reasons the anti-gun crowd claim the 1st Assault Weapons Ban failed.
