we usually start catching them in feb. assuming you mean white bass.

You can catch them when it gets really cold below the steam plants that are generating.

I think it would depend on where you fish. For me, it starts in May but don't really pick up till June then it's wide open until bout August.

So what about the fish that many of us refer to as "stripe"... the white bass. Has anyone been finding them? I was bank fishing Cages Bend access area on Old Hickory and saw a school of them busting up minnows. Do they typically head to shallower water during the cold months like this?

the white bass(stripe) spawning run starts in late jan/feb.

Stripers (rockfish) are being caught right now on Cherokee lake.
