I have the gun you are talking about. Works fine for me. It's a cheap gun but mine shoots just fine.

I have had great success out of mine. Its very accurate. Heavy trigger but clean. A lot better than the new 770's from what I have heard.

A lot of the Remington people hate the 710s. What they hate is the bolt and the plastic vs metal. The truth is I have yet to see any of this plastic stuff fail. Yes the bolt sucks, but this is not an auto so what dose it really matter. I have read reviews that these 710s can shoot very nice groups. I can't get over the bolt so I will never have one. The price would have to be super low when the new ruger american rifle is selling for $319. By the way there was a 710 Recall.

Have 2. One in .270, the other in .30/06 Not a super fine rifle but shoots great, decent scope, very light weight and easy to shoulder. I really love it. For the price works great. Also really good youth rifle, not much recoil and light/ small. Mine has killed many - a - deer.
