Any experience with Safe's being put in a Garage? NO heat, or a/c. It gets pretty hot inside in the summer and pretty cold in winter.
Would it cause damage to guns? I have heard something about a golden rod for them?
Thanks!

I think a lot of factors probably come into play, like orientation to the sun, how well the garage is insulated, and so on. I looked for a safe for about a year before I settled on a Sturdy Gun Safe, mfg. in CA. I went with the insulated model and installed it this summer and even during the excessive heat with a western facing garage door I did not notice any real high temps within the safe. I did get the dehumidifying rod and tied it into my landscape lighting timer so it doesn't run all day and night. Hope this helps some

I didn't know whether that would would work or not so I had mine put in the house. My safe is big. It cost me an extra $250 to have it moved from the garage into the house.

I would prefer it to be in the house, but we have very limited in space. Only options is guns in the closet, or in a safe in the garage.
