I would just about bet, less than 2% of TN bowhunters would actually go enough to justify extending the season. There are several reasons not to extend it-legitimate reasons-and only one to extened it.
We have enough hunting days, our herd is healthy and stable, our bucks are good representatives of the area.
Let's not mess with it.

Nobody seems to want to answer the guy's questions! Reasons and influence? Not opinion.
You will have to ask the TWRA guys. We as hunters can't answer questions only hunting ageny personnel an answer.

There are several reasons not to extend it-legitimate reasons-and only one to extend it. EXACTLY.
IMO, from an overall perspective, extending TN's deer season would do more harm than good.

I'm all for it in localized areas. I know that much of the state's rut is long gone but it's just getting good on our property. It happens every year around Christmas. And I don't buy the bucks that have already lost their antlers getting shot by accident. Come on, if you can't see those big holes on the top of their head then maybe some vision doctor visits are needed.

I'm sure it does with a rifle and not saying mistakes won't happen with archery equipment, but my feeling is that it is a lot less likely to occur with a bow for obvious reasons.

I would be happy if they would just leave season open until the end of Jan.
Agree!
