Is the rut just about over in West Tenn? I saw a nice 8 pt with a doe yesterday morning. Saving him for my son who is home from school for the holidays. Between 4 of us hunting we saw over 30 does and only three bucks. The 8 pt was one of the three. The other two were non shooters. 4 pt and 5 pt.

Not completely done yet, especially if you have lots of does (and sounds like you do). Bucks are still in the mood if the girls will accommodate but it's definitely winding down. The last 2 mornings i've seen 16 and 12. I'll go to mostly afternoons/evenings the next few days to see if that makes a difference because about like you guys, only saw a few bucks mixed in there. All were little guys and beginning to run together again.

If you have food though, sit on it. With the steady cold they are putting on the feed bag big time! Worn down from the rut + cold temps can be the recipe for a big'un.

Just like any other time during deer season...be in the right place at the right time and look out! There's still some chasing going on although most of the older, bigger bucks I've been seeing are cruising alone.

Surely there's a few does out there that haven't been bred. But I'd say the heavy stuff is over.
