how old before you must buy a hunting liscense

my daughters are interested in hunting and i need to know how old they must be before i have to buy it for them

They don't have to have a LICENSE until they are 13.
However, if they participate in the Special Season antlerless hunts, they have to have a Type 094 PERMIT no matter what age they are.
They must be hunter safety certified at age 10. They can get a one year exemption from that requirement with the purchase of an Apprentice license.

So to be clear, the kids can hunt between 6 and 10 without hunter safety? That is assuming 6 is the minimum age allowed?

That is correct. But, all hunters under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years of age who can take immediate control of the hunting weapon.
